The Capella de Música of Basílica de Santa Maria del Mar is a chamber choir with a young profile and a professional vocation, whose principal activity is participation in liturgical celebrations at the Basilica (including the Cant de la Sibil·la, the Midnight Mass, and the Easter Vigil, among others). Its existence has been documented since the sixteenth century.
The core repertoire of the Capella is sacred choral music, performed a cappella or with instrumental accompaniment, from all historical periods, with particular emphasis on Renaissance and Baroque polyphony as well as contemporary music.
Through these auditions, the Capella aims to establish a more stable roster of singers and to create a pool of additional collaborators, facilitating the organisation of productions and the musical development of the ensemble.
Registration for the pre-selection may be completed through the following form until September 8 at 11:59 p.m.
Selected candidates will be invited to attend in-person auditions in Barcelona on the following dates:
– September 20: 4:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
– September 21: 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
– September 22: 3:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
The auditions, which will include both solo and ensemble singing, are open to all singers (students or professionals).
