A thousand people participated this Tuesday, June 30, in the Basilica of Santa Maria del Mar in the celebration of the Institutional Day of Jesuit Education, the day that closes the 2025-26 academic year. The event was attended by Enric Puiggròs , Provincial Superior of the Society of Jesus in Spain, and with the assistance of the Secretary General of the Christian School Foundation of Catalonia, Meritxell Ruiz .
The Provincial addressed educators and invited them to respond to current challenges from the perspective of “us”, from the community and collective action. Puiggròs places the educational mission in a complex social context, marked by accelerated changes, uncertainties and profound challenges, but also by a search for meaning and a renewed interest in spirituality, and asks to avoid simple, binary or merely technical answers.
