Jove Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona

The Jove Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona (JOSB) aims to promote symphonic music while also serving as a musical, educational and cultural initiative that complements the training of young instrumentalists. It encourages their artistic and educational development within a high-level artistic environment in which knowledge, enthusiasm, effort and talent are shared.

Currently composed of more than sixty young musicians, the orchestra was founded in 2015 under the artistic and principal direction of conductor Carlos Checa. It made its debut at the Foyer of the Gran Teatre del Liceu, and since its inaugural 2015–2016 season has maintained a minimum of six symphonic programmes per season. The orchestra also collaborates with professors, young soloists and guest conductors.
