Commentary:
Komm, süßer Tod presents a journey through German music of the 17th and 18th centuries, exploring one of the great themes of the European spiritual tradition: the awareness of the fleeting nature of life and reflection on death. The programme brings together works by different members of the Bach family alongside music by Schütz, Hammerschmidt and Harris.
A group of singers will join the Capella de Música de Santa Maria del Mar to sing the Lutheran hymns that connect the programme, just as congregations of worshippers did in the past.
Reduced admission: €18 available for students, large or single-parent families, under-26s and unemployed people. Documentary proof of eligibility for the discount is required.
Tickets can be purchased online by clicking here or at the entrance to the Basilica before each concert.
