On 2 November 2026 at 9 pm, the Basilica of Santa Maria del Mar will host Komm, süßer Tod, a concert dedicated to German sacred music of the 17th and 18th centuries, featuring works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Johann Michael Bach, Johann Bach, Heinrich Schütz, Georg Böhm, Michael Franck and Andreas Hammerschmidt, among others.
On the occasion of this concert, the Capella de Música de Santa Maria del Mar is launching an open call to form a participatory choir, which will join the performance at several points in the programme, singing three chorales by Johann Sebastian Bach and Michael Franck.
The initiative is aimed at singers with choral experience who would like to take part in this musical project at the Basilica. The preparation will include a joint rehearsal on Sunday, 1 November, from 8.30 to 9.45 pm, and a soundcheck on the afternoon of the concert, at a time yet to be confirmed.
Participation costs €15, and places are limited to ten singers per voice part. Advance registration is required through the designated form.
Registered participants will also be eligible for discounted admission to the other concerts in the season.
