Prayer with Contemplative Dance

Contemplative dance is a form of prayer, not only with the mind and heart, but fundamentally with the body. Through gesture and movement in a group setting, the dance leads participants into a meditative and prayerful state.

Like any other form of prayer, it is a means of encountering God, experiencing His love, and learning to live in the world as witnesses of that love.

At the Basílica de Santa Maria del Mar, for several years, a group of people has gathered on the first Monday of each month to pray through contemplative dance from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., following the parish Mass at 7:30 p.m.
